Our Story

Hastingwood Securities Ltd has been in the property business for over 20 years. Initially serving as a group holding company for a large number of operating companies, we traded in a variety of property-based areas, including hotels, residential new build, timeshare, residential refurbishments, construction, and the industrial and commercial activities which form the basis of our current operations.

This extensive background in property has led to a breadth of operational experience and to some "user-friendly" attitudes which are unusual in the sectors in which we operate.

Today, Hastingwood focuses on two core businesses: Industrial Business Parks and Managed Business Centres. In both these businesses, Hastingwood tries to be different — and we think we succeed.

As the economy becomes ever more specialised and fragmented, dealing with utilities and service providers is increasingly difficult, expensive and frustrating. Therefore, in addition to making our premises attractive and easy to rent, we try to make all those extra services — from the building trades to IT support — available if required.

The Docklands Story

The Docklands Business Centre is housed in what were originally 4 buildings, each self-contained and complete with all services, built on two sides of a square with an enclosed common car park and podium. The buildings are now interconnected and function as one.

The buildings were originally constructed in 1991 to take advantage of Enterprise Zone tax relief incentives. Hastingwood designed and built the 50,000 sq ft development ourselves using our construction arm.

When the property boom ended, we found ourselves with 4 completed buildings and no buyers. Rather than give up, we transformed them into what is now the largest managed office operation in London Docklands — a testament to our resilience and commitment.

Our Heritage

The Docklands Business Centre encapsulates several slices of modern financial history. From the heady days of the Enterprise Zone boom to the challenges of the early nineties crash, our building has seen it all — and emerged stronger.

We employ our own Maintenance and Security staff and also operate an IT Division based in the Data Centre housed within the Docklands Business Centre. This means every aspect of your office environment is managed by people who care about your success.

With two Management Offices in London — at Docklands and Edmonton — we are never far away when you need us. Our managers, Margaret Cain and Margaret Robinson, are on-site daily to ensure everything runs smoothly.
